Recommended Plants

If there's one thing I know, it's plants.

A couple of years ago I received a letter addressed simply to the Garden Man without a city or even the right zip code!In fact, the U.S. Postal Service agrees as I've actually received mail addressed to "Garden Man," 119 Concord Place, City, 13201 - no name, no city/town/village, and the wrong zip code (see photo at right)!

If there's something that I don't know about a plant, I truly enjoy doing the research to track down the piece of missing information - whether to satisfy my own curiosity or in response to a client's request (which also satisfies my own curiosity).

And, how many people do you know that can spend days at a time wandering through botanical gardens and arboreta, shooting rolls of film (or filling up memory cards in this digital age) and reading every last word on every tag attached to every plant?

So, click on any of the links at left to learn more about the plants that I recommend for Central New York landscapes and gardens.

At a very minimum, you can be assured that they're well-adapted to the general soil and weather conditions found here, that they're pest-resistant, and that they offer multiple seasons of interest!

And, return every couple of weeks to learn more about the latest additions to the list as there are hundreds of plants that I can't wait to recommend!
